Health advocacy organization promotes public awareness of sickle cell disease, tests, for sickle cell traits, and offers services to people with sickle cell disease including support groups and financial aid. Sickle cell trait is the carrier of the sickle cell disease. Through education we dispel myths about whom the disease could affect. It is important that the correct information is provided. Education is provided at health events, churches, schools, places of business, and group settings with families. We offer screening and Sickle Cell Trait testing for those who have not been tested before (free of charge at the moment); counseling for those who have a positive result; support services to persons affected with sickle cell disease and the trait, and for those who need emergency medical assistance. Referrals are appreciated from health and social services for those who need emergency medical assistance.
