Description

A Connecticut Department of Social Services program operated by the United Way of Connecticut. C4K provides financial aid to low and moderate income families that need help paying for child care. Parents must be working or receiving Temporary Family Cash Assistance and attending approved Jobs First education or training activities. Families must be CT residents and meet the program's income requirements. Children needing care must be under age 13 or, if the child has special needs, under age 19. Assistance is available during the hours parents are at work or in training. Child care providers must be licensed unless care is given by a close relative or in the child's own home. Unlicensed providers must pass criminal background and child abuse/neglect background checks to be eligible.
