EARLY CHILDHOOD CONSULTATION PARTNERSHIP (ECCP)

Description

The Early Childhood Consultation Partnership (ECCP) is a state-wide Prevention/Early Intervention Program providing mental health consultation to parents as well as teachers and directors of early chillhood programs who work with children 0-5 years old. ECCP Consultants can help develop strategies for working with children with challenging behaviors and/or social/emotional concerns. The consultants provide observations, a plan for implementing strategies at home and in the classroom for the child, and referrals for the parents, if needed. ECCP consultants can also provide services to enhance the overall environment in preschool classrooms. They work directly with preschool teachers on strategies to promote children's social and emotional well-being. Parents, teachers or directors may choose services that range from a brief phone consultation to developing strategies and referrals for an individual child or classroom. The service is free of charge for residents of Connecticut.
