LIFE COPING SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Description

The Life Coping Skills Development Program is a 16 week work study and skills development experience. The primary target population is court-involved youth ages 14-18. They are referred by the Juvenile Court for a variety of low-level crimes and Non-Judicial matters such as chronic or persistent truancy, running away, being ungovernable or incorrigible, violating curfew laws, or possessing alcohol or tobacco. They are enrolled in the program for 16 weeks Monday through Thursday 3 to 6PM. Over the past five years nearly 200 youth have completed the program - 60% of which have not re-offended and improved significantly in social competencies.
