Multi-systemic Therapy is a short-term community-based therapy program designed to serve adolescents and their families by respecting individual differences in families. Therapists meet with families in the home environment in order to collaborate in ways that help youth prosper. In contrast to traditional therapy programs, MST does not solely focus on individual talk therapy, but rather treatment plans incorporate both individual strengths of the adolescent and the strengths of other ìsystemsî (e.g. family, peers, school, and community) that play a role in an adolescentís life. The MST therapist will work with the family and other key figures in the childís life to create interventions that keep children at home and out of the Juvenile Justice System.
