The Intensive Family Preservation (IFP) program promotes the safety and well-being of all family members by maintaining and building on primary family connections. IFP helps parents improve their parenting abilities, identify and build on family strengths, and reduce behaviors which may place a child or family at risk. IFP is designed to help stabilize families who are in crisis or transition. IFP assists families by increasing self-sufficiency, increasing parenting effectiveness, and improving the coping abilities of parents and family members.
The IFP program provides home visits twice a week by an IFP therapist totaling five hours per week for up to 12 weeks. Families are also offered 24/7 support via a pager system.
